2 Esthetic Treatments Perfect For Fall and Winter
While esthetic treatments can technically be performed year-round, some treatments are recommended to be performed in the fall and winter when the sun’s ultraviolet rays are less intense thus optimizing results.
Laser Treatments
While lasers can treat a variety of skin concerns, in this case we are referencing laser treatments that are targeting acne scars, fine lines, pigmentation, melasma, and age/sun spots. Laser treatments commonly cause temporary inflammation in the skin. The treated/inflamed tissue is more vulnerable to sunlight. This means that heat, humidity, and sun exposure can cause the skin to repair more slowly. It is recommended to perform them during the fall and winter for optimal results and recovery.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are performed to help even out skin tone, reduce the appearance of acne scars, correct sun damage, and resurface the skin. There are many different types of chemicals peels, from ones that target only the outermost layer of the skin to those that target more deeply. While these peels can technically be performed year-round, it is usually best to save them for fall and winter when the sun’s rays are not the strongest, and you are more likely to spend time indoors.
